The Indian Pines Recreation Authority was established to oversee the joint operation of the Indian Pines facility between the City of Auburn and the City of Opelika. The authority's goal is to acquire, finance, refinance, provide for, establish, install, and manage this recreational area.
The board consists of a total five members: Two are selected by the City of Auburn and two selected by the City of Opelika. All but one member will be appointed by the governing bodies of the municipalities. The appointed members will select the final member of the board. Must be residents of the municipality he or she represents. While serving on this board, members may not be an officer of the state or any county, city or town therein.
